What’s New in the 2026 Lexus SUV Lineup: The RZ Becomes a Better EV

Lexus keeps its SUV lineup fresh for 2026 with a mix of key performance upgrades and subtle refinements. Although most models carry over with minor updates, select versions, like the brand’s all-electric model, see meaningful improvements to technology, comfort, and driving dynamics. 2026 Lexus GX

The 2026 GX carries over unchanged from last year’s model. For 2025, Lexus added a power tilt-and-telescoping steering column and a memory system for the driver’s seat, steering wheel, and mirrors as standard across all trims. The rugged Overtrail and Overtrail+ models also gained an extra inch of suspension lift and prewired auxiliary switches for off-road gear.

2026 Lexus LX

The LX gains Curve Speed Management this year as part of its Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 suite, helping regulate speed through curves when cruise control is engaged.

Other changes are trim-specific. The Overtrail is now available in Manganese Luster paint, and the LX700h F Sport Handling adds an optional F Sport appearance package. This package includes color-matched lower front and rear bumper accents, black mirror covers, black rear spoiler winglets, and color-matched running board accents.

2026 Lexus NX

Updates for the 2026 Lexus NX lineup include a new NX350h FWD model, along with a 450h+ Premium trim that slots just below the Luxury grade. Every version is now available with the F Sport Handling package, which adds a tuned adaptive suspension, blacked-out exterior accents, and F Sport–specific seats with extra bolstering and a unique driver display.

On the outside, the NX adds a new Infrared paint color, and Ultra White paint, previously limited to F Sport variants, is now offered across all models. Plug-in hybrid versions gain dual-voltage Level 1 and Level 2 charging cables for added convenience. The NX250 has been discontinued.

2026 Lexus RX

A wireless phone charger now comes standard across all RX trims this year, and the RX450h+ plug-in hybrid gains a new dual-purpose charging cable compatible with both 120- and 240-volt outlets. The RX450h+ also expands its offerings with the addition of a Premium grade, which slots below the existing Luxury trim.

Meanwhile, the F Sport Handling and F Sport Performance variants can now be equipped with an available Appearance package. Inspired by last year’s Black Line Special Edition, the package adds distinctive black exterior accents, orange brake calipers, and a set of 21-inch black five-spoke wheels. It’s offered in exterior colors including Ultra White, Cloudburst Gray, Iridium, Incognito, and Caviar, and it features a black interior complemented by gray contrast stitching.

2026 Lexus RZ

The RZ undergoes a comprehensive round of updates this year, designed to enhance both core EV performance and overall driving enjoyment. A revised battery architecture brings longer range and faster charging, and a North American Charging System port is now built in. The new battery offers greater capacity to support improved efficiency and performance.

Power and precision both take a leap forward thanks to more powerful electric motors and refinements to the RZ’s all-wheel-drive torque vectoring system. Chassis tuning has been updated for sharper handling and a more comfortable ride, aided by specially tuned suspension components and model-specific damper and spring settings. Lexus also reinforced the structure with increased rigidity around the radiator support and a new rear brace.

For the first time, the RZ can be equipped with a steer-by-wire system. The RZ550e F Sport AWD, a new high-performance trim, makes its debut with 402 horsepower and a new M Mode that provides virtual manual gear shifting through paddle shifters. This variant also introduces a model-exclusive Wind exterior color and a Black Ultrasuede interior accented with blue stitching. Meanwhile, the RZ450e AWD now offers a dealer-installed performance upgrade that boosts output from 308 to 375 hp without affecting range.

Lexus also focused on refinement and quietness. Additional sound-deadening measures include a rear floor silencer beneath the back seat, new soundproofing materials in the tonneau cover, back door trim, and deck box, plus a high-damping adhesive on the body floor panel to further reduce vibration.

Inside, the RZ benefits from refreshed materials and finishes. Available Ultrasuede door trim now features a laser-etched pattern design, and the improved Dynamic Sky Panorama Glass Roof allows for deeper shading when opaque and a clearer view when transparent.

2026 Lexus TX

In just its third model year, the TX receives only minor updates. A new Matador Red Mica exterior color joins the palette for non–F Sport models, and the TX550h+ adds a standard panoramic glass roof. Inside, third-row passengers benefit from new standard modular cupholders for added convenience.

2026 Lexus UX
