2027 Chrysler Pacifica First Look: Deep Discounts and a Fresh Face

The Pacifica’s new look is an “interesting” choice if we’re being polite.

The Chrysler Pacifica first debuted for 2017, and although the overall design hasn’t changed much, it has seen at least one face-lift, back in 2021. It’s now time for another freshening, and it’s largely the front end that’s different. It’s, uh, bold.

We’re somewhat surprised Chrysler didn’t adapt the Airflow concept’s nose for the update, as its clean look would have blended easily with the van’s shape. Instead, there are upside-down L-shaped lights in the vein of the Kia Carnival.

So Long Voyager, Hello “LX”

Among the lineup, the Chrysler Voyager has, once again, changed its name. The Voyager name was resurrected as a sort of replacement for the base-model Pacifica in 2024 (primarily for rental fleets), but it will go back to being known as a Pacifica for 2027. The “new” base model will be called LX, only offer front-wheel drive, and start at $41,495. The rest of the lineup is unchanged and will continue to be available with optional AWD.

Other Pacifica Updates and Changes

Further updates include a new rear Chrysler wing badge, new wheel designs, and new exterior paint options. For the Select, Limited, and Pinnacle trims, the front grille is illuminated with a “piano keys” design, and these versions also gain an adjustable-height power liftgate as standard.

Inside, there are new trims and accent finishes to choose from, while the Stow ‘n Go seating and storage system remains a staple of the Pacifica. The Pinnacle gets exclusive Blue Agave Nappa leather and Copper Alloy bezels to further differentiate it from the rest of the line. The Uconnect Theater package and Family Tech Group have now been separated into their own packages and are joined by an Enhanced Safety package on the order sheet. The last bundle adds turn-signal-activated Blind Spot View, ParkSense-based camera activation, the 360 Surround View, and a Front Park Assist with Stop feature.

2027 Pacifica Versus 2026

As mentioned, the 2027 Pacifica LX FWD starts at $41,495—that’s $1,895 less than the former Voyager. And that same price reduction continues down the 2027 trims until you get to the Pinnacle, which is now $3,180 cheaper than it was in 2026 with either FWD or AWD. It’s nice when vehicle prices come down instead of rising, but even with the new front end, there’s no denying the rest of the Pacifica is nearly the same as it was nearly a decade ago.

Which Wins in Price Versus the Toyota Sienna?

If you’re looking for a minivan that offers an AWD option to match the Pacifica, you’re cross-shopping the Toyota Sienna. It has a standard hybrid powertrain, making it more efficient, and while a couple of head-to-head trims are more expensive than the Chrysler, in most cases the equivalent Sienna is actually cheaper—and if it isn’t, the hybrid will make up the difference within a year or two in terms of fuel savings. Now, dealer incentives and discounts may change the equation, but it’s clear the newer Sienna is worth a look for AWD minivan shoppers. (The rest of the segment consists of the Honda Odyssey and Kia Carnival, both of which are front-drive only.)

Is the 2027 Chrysler Pacifica Worth It in the End?

On the face of it, the 2027 Pacifica is a much cheaper than it was for 2026. But the new face and discounted MSRPs can only go so far in making up for its aging bones versus the rest of the segment.

Chrysler desperately needs a new model, be it a fully redesigned Pacifica or an entirely different vehicle. But with the Airflow basically dead and the Pacifica Hybrid gone thanks to Stellantis walking back electrification plans for the U.S., it’s hard to see the storied Chrysler brand regaining relevance in the market anytime soon. As fans of automotive history, we hope we’re wrong.
